Welcome to Brella The Independent Artist's Co-op Brella is a co-operative collective of like-minded, independent artists and artist's services sharing an "umbrella" web presence in order to keep costs down and to provide some cross-pollination between each other. The co-op is a non-profit web host open to bands, musicians, song-writers, artists and arts-related businesses such as independent record labels, promotion companies, galleries, studios, fanzines, etc. For a small annual contribution (currently about A$50 per year, related only to running costs) a sub-domain is created (eg., brella.org/goldentone) where you may place your web site. You can get more details here. Since launching the site, the following have signed on to Brella : The Sand Pebbles, Goldentone, The Bitter End, Chris Chapple, Collectors Corner & Dead Letter Records. If you would like to become a Brella member, please feel free to contact us for further information. *** R.I.P. Grant McLennan *** Together with Robert Forster in the various incarnations of The Go Betweens, Grant McLennan helped define a whole genre of music. The great tragedy is that his passing came at a time of renewed creativity and, finally, a degree of commercial acknowledgement. One of the best shows I can recall in recent years was The Go Betweens' gig at Melbourne's Forum in 2005. I wish I'd known it would be their last. Steven Camden
