Live @ Erwin Rado Cinema, Fitzroy
- April 7, 2001. Recorded at the launch of the Sand Pebbles single (CAMO42S).
The band played in front of a kaleidoscope of cinematic images including

even acting audition tapes of the band members. Beck Zack plays piano
while Jason Robertson sits in for an absent Piet Collins on drums.

Hey,
Let Me In (Sand Pebbles)
|
|
The first
version of 'Hey, Let Me In' in a radically different, slinkier form
to the metallic version featured on the Sand Pebbles single (CAMO42S).
It was used by Melbourne fashion house Phillips in a 1999 Melbourne
Fashion Week parade. Murray Jamieson plays organ on the track.

Things
Have Changed (B.
Dylan)
|
|
Live @
the Cornish Arms, Brunswick - May 27, 2001. The cave comes alive for
this pounding flower punk version of the Bob Dylan track featured in
the 'Wonder Boys' film. The rough recording was done on mini disc at
a night celebrating Dylan's 60th Birthday. The band also played versions
of 'I Wanna Be Your Lover', 'Series of Dreams' and 'I'll Keep it with
Mine'. After finishing the latter one punter shouted 'play some Dylan!'
This raw rendition of 'Things Have Changed' was the response.

Your Love Forever:
A Gene Clark Tribute |

Back
Street Mirror (Gene
Clark)
|
|
A tribute to the ex-Byrd from
a swag of Melbourne bands (+ one American, Joe Pernice). The Sand Pebbles
contributed a phased, flower punk version of 'Back Street Mirror' -
a track Clark never released himself but wrote for David Hemmings -
the Brit-actor star of 'Blow Up' and 'Barbarella' - for his 1967 album
'Happens'. Clare Moore (drums) and Dave Graney (acoustic) helped out.
The Sand Pebbles returned the favour on Graney and Moore's version of 'Here Tonight' - a song written by Gene for the Flying Burrito Brothers that surfaced on his 'Roadmaster' album. Chris Hollow providing the liner notes for the record. The disc can be purchased from
